How to scan applications running on localhost

Hi, I am a blind IT student. The subject says it all. I am writing a thesis on pentest tools and I would like to evaluate Arachni. I would like to test it on a vulnerable application which is running on my localhost.However, when I want to scan it, I get an error that localhost is reserved. This happens also for 127.0.0.1. How could I accomplish this? Thanks alot.

   Hello,

   127.0.0.1 is reserved but you can use 127.0.0.2 instead.
