Cannot get email_notify plugin to work correctly

I have setup a profile with the email_notify plugin enabled. At first I tried to get it to send from an internal smtp server with no authentication and this did not work. The username and password fields are mandatory so I realized this was not going to ever work with the internal smtp server. So then my next idea was to use gmail. I have all the settings set up correctly, I believe, server: smtp.gmail.com and port 465 using SSL/TLS with my username and password correct. Still these settings do not work.

I was hoping for a little guidance on how to get this to work as it seems like a nice feature to have.
Thanks,
Kent

    Hey,

GMail changed port to 587 about a year ago if I recall correctly.

    Use: server_address=smtp.gmail.com,server_port=587,tls=true

Feel free to re-open the ticket if you run into any trouble.

    Cheers
