Automatically shutting down
After starting Arachni Web, I will have the following messages scroll in the terminal window for about 2-3 minutes then the system shut down, I have not been able to interpret what it is telling me or what I need to do to correct the issue.

Those messages are normal, what worries me is the system shut down. Can you please provide more information on that?
Is there an errors or something?

My test scan indicated it completed, however could not retrieve the report due to an Unknown error. I did some digging and all I could find was the following. The system appears to have shutdown.

What you're seeing is the scanner process being shut down after it finishes the scan, it's perfectly normal.
Not being able to retrieve the report however is not.
Can you please attach the logfile at:
system/logs/webui/production.log
